Welcome to the Computer Lab

Posted by Debbie Farrell, 4/23/01 at 12:27:05 PM.

The Cottonwood Computer Lab is equipped with 15 multimedia computers, 1 TV and VCR with LCD projection system, 2 color printers, 1 laser printer, 1 flatbed scanners, and 3 digital cameras. Students come to the lab once a week to work with Mrs. Farrell. Each class has a 45 minute time block. Two students will share a computer when students are learning to use new software or working with software that allows cooperative work. When working on individual projects or software that requires each student to have their own computer, the class is split in two groups, with each group coming to the lab for 20 minutes. Students receive instruction in basic productivity software; such as paint, word processing, database, spreadsheet, and multimedia presentation. They work with a variety of tutorial and drill & practice CD-ROM software involving math, science, problem solving, reading, keyboarding, and research. The Internet is used for research and online projects as well as educational games & quizzes.
