WHITAKER ELEMENTARY MUSIC: MR. JONES' SITE
Music at Whitaker Elementary School is a program designed to equip the students with the skills necessary for musical understanding and enjoyment. Students currently attend music class with a music educator twice a week for 40 minutes. The Orff-Schulwerk approach to music education is utilized to focus on the acquisition of elemental music skills.
We are excited to announce that there a NEW MUSIC TEXTBOOK SERIES is being introduced at Whitaker for the school year 2001-2002!!! The name of the series is: SHARE THE MUSIC. We have new CDs as well! Also, there is a web site for parents to check out! Here it is:

Performance opportunities are available to all students through grade level productions, Band/Orchestra performances, Percussion Ensemble improvisations, and Choral singing in one of our three elementary choirs.
