Spring Camping and Summer Camp Our April meetings will be devoted to getting ready for our wilderness survival campout at the end of the month. This campout is great fun with lots of advanced camp craft skills applications. We will build a monkey bridge, teach fire by friction, make wilderness stew, throw tomahawks, make a Wilderness Kayak and lots more. Our May meetings will be focused on getting ready for Summer Camp and Water Safety. The troop will have two campouts -- one for new scouts to give them some experience prior to summer camp and the rest of the troop will go canoeing. Troop gear: If you have any troop gear at home, please bring it to the meeting! If you have some gear that you don't know how to clean just ask. Summer Camp is just around the bend. Don't forget that physical forms are due June 1. Every Scout needs an updated class 1 form (the one filled out and signed by a parent) every year. Every Scout needs a class 2 form, filled out and signed by a physician, every 3 years. All adults who will be staying overnight at camp need a class 3 form (signed by a physician) on file, to be updated annually for those 40 and over. Looks like we'll have a great turnout at summer camp! First year campers and their parents are invited to an information session Monday, June 7, at Northminster, 7 p.m. We'll meet in the parking lot. We are making arrangfments for a troop contingent who would like to attend a second week of camp. Detail to follow soon.
