The Future of The World Is Nuts!(TM)

I'm a newbie (although I picked lots of butter and hazel nuts when I was young). What should a person bring with them? Can children participate? It's a bit of a drive from the Twin Cities, is there a hotel in Canton?

What other considerations should I take into account?

I have vacation time that I need to use and would like to spend some of that time helping out and learning more about nut farming.
