The National Football League adopted tough drug standards in 1987. . . That's right 1987. . . Where has Baseball been?? Mr. Selig has been Commissioner, either acting or otherwise, since 1992 and has fallen asleep at the switch - - apparently passed out, or - - is he covering up?? How could anybody be so blase' about controlled substances in the nation's number one sport (or at least it was the number one sport before Bud Selig managed to depreciate it to a lower level).

His new Drug Policy was requested by the Congressional Committee by letter and it was refused. Congress actually had to subpoena the man, for God sake, to get a copy of the Commissioner's Drug Regulations. Why? What does he have to hide? He's obviously not very happy with his own workmanship. Why was he so reluctant to provide Congress this information?

Now we know!

He has already admitted that his policies where inadequate in his formal testimony. If inadequate, why? This man is in over his head and must be immediately fired! How much time does it take for him to do the job right? Couldn't he get a copy of the NFL Regulations and adapt it to baseball?? Apparently that 's too much to ask!

What is wrong with Bug Selig?? What is his agenda? This man has been an absolute total failure in terms of baseball attendance, in terms of the excitement and promotion of the game, and in terms of offering legitimate Role Models for American Youth. Speaking of Role Models: there is another big problem with Bud Selig: - -

He has made a BIG MISTAKE in his dealing with Pete Rose.

Pete Rose has paid his price for his terrible crime of betting on baseball. That was over a long time ago. Still, 10 years later, Bud Selig will not allow him to be placed in the Baseball Hall of Fame. . . Will not allow him to be a Manager of a team. . . Nor even take part in ceremonial activities at a ballpark.

What's the matter with this man?

After all, gambling today is an American pastime. It has become an accepted entertainment pastime. It is no longer associated with evil operations, the Mob, and so on. Drugs, on the other hand, spoil the game for everybody.

We want to know, that when someone makes a hit - - it's from his own God-given abilities - - not from some illegal chemical.

Selig has got his priorities upside-down and inside out. It is perfectly legitimate to allow Pete Rose to become a Club Manager and to play whatever ceremonial role he is entitled to in any club in America, as well as, become a full-fledged Hall of Famer. His record in Baseball, I do not have to repeat. Our Blogger Readers already know his record. So - -What can we do to get rid of this man, Bud Selig?

Does it take an Atom Bomb to lay him to rest? How do we get ride of him and put Pete Rose in the Hall of Fame and back into the business as a Club Manager - - probably back in Cincinnati Ohio where he would be able to fill the stands to overflowing, probably on his first game after taking over the Manager position.

Selig has punished him to an extent that is inhumane. It is also inhumane to the young men and women who are looking for Honest Role Models in baseball. Why has Selig denied Rose that Role Model status??

Kids don't think of Pete Rose as a gambler - - they think of him as one of the Greatest Players of all time, and he should be allowed to play his Role Model status.

Finally - - the drug addicts on steroids are not proper Role Models for our youth today and Selig should know it (whatever his agenda is, it is bad for our American Youth, it is bad for Baseball and bad for American Sports)!! Let's start a letter writing campaign to the Commissioner's office demanding his resignation forthwith.
