Why is this here?
That's an interesting question.
The past 3 years of my life have been, shall we say... "challenging." I mean that in both a positive and a negative way.
Positively, I have been challenged in my study of God's Word. I have grown as a teacher, and have begun to preach as well. I've been blessed (and maybe a bit surprised) at how God has used that. I've been stretched in ways that I would never have expected, and have grown more spiritually in this time period than ever before in my life.
Negatively, I have had a number of personal struggles which have really weighed heavy on my heart. I have seen many significant illnesses in both my family and in my church family.
Relationally, I have seen a number of friendships become less than what they were, and some friendships deepen to levels that I could not have imagined.
All these things have added up to make me far more introspective than I ever was in the past. My days, and nights, are spent meditating on a myriad of topics. The purpose of this site, in part, will be to give me an outlet to share some of those random thoughts. Perhaps someone will actually read them. Perhaps not. In one sense, it probably doesn't matter. I think the very act of writing them down will be therapeutic.
So, what can you expect to find here?
It could be just about anything. I might share:
- things that are going on in my life (with or without pictures)
- links to articles I find on the Internet, with my thoughts on the article.
- thoughts from my own reading and study.
- summaries of my teachings and/or sermons
- spiritual truths that I am learning and/or wrestling with.
- things that I am praying about and through.
Literally, the sky is the limit. I guess we'll find out together as I begin posting a few things.
At the bottom of every message is an option to 'Discuss" the topic. If anyone reads these pages, I would be very blessed to interact with you on some of these thoughts. Just click on the link to add to the discussion.
